In September of 2006, my sister, Robin, was diagnosed with Leukemia.  Before this, I thought I knew what
cancer was, but I had no clue.  The fight that she put up, and continues to put up, is absolutely amazing.  It's a
true sign of  her will and love for life.

I remember a day when someone walked into her hospital room, all frustrated, and complained about how bad
the traffic was. Right at that moment, I realized how insane this sounds: complaining about the traffic to
someone with cancer!  I'm sure I had complained to her, as well, about silly things that I can't even remember;
although, if I had actually "Put things in Perspective," I would've laughed at myself over the things I must have
said.

It was right then when I made a promise to myself that I would try not to get so stressed and bothered over
little things.  I had the ability to walk out of the hospital, go to work, play sports and yes, get stuck in traffic- all
things that Robin was hoping to see/do again!

Even while lying in bed, Robin mentioned to me how lucky she was... WHAT?!?  She, too, "Put things in
Perspective" and realized that she was in a great hospital, close to her family and recognized how difficult it
must be for someone who is not as fortunate as she is.

When Robin inspired me and Lauren to start out on our "Flip It For Life" journey, we had a couple of goals :
Raise money for cancer research and change a few attitudes at the same time.  With your support, we are
doing both!

Thank you,
